Strain Origin & Features

Origin: This variety originated from Canovanas, a town on the northeast side of Puerto Rico. It was discovered growing on a piece of cow dung after a hurricane, which had moistened the area with rain. Following the flood, residents found hundreds of these mushrooms. Since then, it has become a favorite among Puerto Ricans and mycologists. Yes, we do ship to Puerto Rico!

Features: The spores of Puerto Rico mushrooms are dark purplish to black, sub-ellipsoid on 4-spored basidia. The caps are generally dark spore printers, measuring 40-60mm in diameter. This strain provides ample research material.

Difficulty & Rarity

Difficulty: Puerto Rico Cubensis is considered one of the easier strains to work with and research. It is on a similar level to Golden Teacher and B+, and much easier than strains like Penis Envy or Tidal Wave.
